On April 18, the National Energy Administration released data on the total electricity consumption for March.
In March, the total electricity consumption of the society was 828.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the first industry consumed 10.6 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%; the second industry consumed 557.8 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%; the third industry consumed 148.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%; urban and rural residents' electricity consumption was 111.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%.
From January to March, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 23,846 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%, of which the electricity generation of large-scale industries was 22,699 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the first industry consumed 31.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%; the second industry consumed 15,214 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%; the third industry consumed 4,465 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 3,853 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
